Application Guide – Choosing the Right Stainless Steel Grade: 201, 304 & 316
A practical guide for engineers and contractors selecting banding and cable ties for corrosive environments.
At Band-N-Go, we supply medium duty and heavy duty banding for general fastening in type 201 stainless steel.
Light duty banding is supplied in type 304 stainless steel, and medium duty banding for marine and other saline environments is type 316 stainless steel.
Stainless steel cable ties are usually supplied in type 316 stainless steel, with some sizes available in type 304 stainless steel.
All types are chromium-steel alloys. Type 201 stainless contains less nickel, and type 316 stainless has added molybdenum.
